Orbit conducts free medical care for 100 persons in Ogun
Orbit Africa Properties, a leading real estate company, has organised a free medical outreach for about 100 elderly indigents in Abeokuta, Ogun State.
Speaking at the event, Wisdom Oluwaseun-Okoko, co-founder of the company, explained that the outreach formed part of the activities marking the launch of the company’s new office space in Abeokuta, noting that the initiative was in line with the organisation’s commitment to giving back to the society and fostering community well-being.
Okoko described the gesture as a token of appreciation for the community’s support, particularly during the launch of the company’s first-ever property, Kinshasa-Africa, located in the Kobape area of the state. He noted that the new Abeokuta office will provide residents with easy access to affordable landed properties saying: “We are not just selling land; we are creating communities with basic amenities that enhance property value,” he said.
Okoko posits that the peace and security enjoyed at the company’s project sites were largely due to the community’s warm reception.
The outreach, according to the organisers, underscores the company’s strong commitment to corporate social responsibility and improving the lives of people in its host communities.
“The medical outreach is part of Orbit Africa Properties’ broader vision to be more than just a real estate company, but also a partner in the community’s growth story.
“By establishing a branch office in Abeokuta, we aim to strengthen ties with residents, provide easier access to our services, and continue making positive contributions to the environment,” he said.
He further explained that the initiative had been well-received, with many beneficiaries expressing heartfelt gratitude for the free medical services.
Ibukun Idowu, one of the beneficiaries, commended the company for its kindness and concern for the elderly. “This is truly life-changing. Many of us cannot afford regular medical care, and this outreach has brought us great relief,” she said.
Another beneficiary, Titilayo Adeogun, said, “Orbit Africa Properties has shown that it genuinely cares about this community. We are thankful for their investment in our health and well-being.”
The outreach includes tests for blood sugar, diabetes, hypertension, and HIV/Aids.
However, free drugs were given and some referrals were made to Secondary healthcare facilities for those with disease that require intensive care. Many of the elderly patients have musculo-skeletal issues, and are hypertensive.
