“I’ve not begged, I won’t beg, I’ll never beg Senate”- Natasha
“I’ve not begged, I won’t beg, I’ll never beg Senate”- Natasha
Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan versus Senate President Godwin Akpabio continued to draw intense media attention, this time for attention-grabbing headlines.
The story about not begging the Senate appeared as other reports spoke of the concerted efforts by Lokoja and Abuja to engineer a citizen recall through falsehood. The Kogi State government reportedly lied to citizens about coming and registering for empowerment. They were to bring their NIN and voter’s cards. Curious citizens then found out it was a ruse to gather their data for the ambush against their senator. The citizens turned it into a protest march.
She responded to media narratives of a recall petition to INEC by Kogi Central citizens and voters against her. Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan stated: “The purported reports circulating that I have apologised to the Senate and retracted my position are untrue. I stand firmly by my words and actions, and I have not issued any apology to the Senate or anyone regarding this matter.
Unfortunately, some individuals are peddling falsehoods to distort the truth and mislead the public. I urge the public to disregard the reports. Any official statement from me will come through my verified channels.
I urge the public to disregard these rumours and publications as they do not represent my position. My commitment remains to truth, justice, and the people I represent. This is not just about me; it is about the integrity of our democracy. I will not be intimidated or forced into submission through false narratives. I appreciate the support and solidarity of our people. Rest assured, I will continue to fight for what is right and just.”
Charity Ijese Omole, leading her group from the Kogi Central Senatorial District, also told INEC on Monday that the group had secured adequate signatures to commence the recall process to bring Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan back from the Senate.
The Senate suspended Akpoti-Uduaghan for six months, the highest on record, with stiff conditions never heard of in the Senate’s history.
They revived the interest of the former governor in a renewed battle against her. Now, this group has procured signatures for her recall.
Mrs Omole described her group’s action as “the game is the game.” She elaborated: “We submitted the petition, and it has been received.
All other documents have been received. We are the ones who voted for her, and we don’t want her anymore because we cannot afford not to have a representative. Nobody is bankrolling us.
Nobody is having any personal issues with her. It is just what it is. The game is the game.”
Charity Ijese Omole works in the office of the governor of Kogi State.
Some female activists commenced trolling her on Facebook on Tuesday, 25 October.

Emergency over the emergency rule
Two influential voices added to the criticism of the six-month emergency rule over Rivers State at the weekend, rousing Aso Villa on Monday.
Nobel laureate Prof Wole Soyinka, a staunch Tinubu ally, went on record to describe the measure and the removal of Gov Sim Fubara and the state legislature as “excessive”.
Former president Goodluck Jonathan broke the code of silence of former rulers against current ones when he stated that the three arms of government contributed to the situation. Jonathan said the executive, legislature and judiciary were guilty.
“A clear abuse of offices, clear abuse of power, clear abuse of privileges, cutting across the three arms of government — from the executive through the parliament and to the judiciary,” Johnathan charged.
Soyinka accused Tinubu of acting against federalism. “The government is over-centralised. The debate will go on whether this (state of emergency) was, in the first place, a wise decision. Regarding fundamental principles, I believe this is against the federal spirit of association.”
The Presidency minimised the intervention of Soyinka and Jonathan as their “personal opinions.” Mr Tope Ajayi, spokesman, stated: “Professor Wole Soyinka and former President Goodluck Jonathan are respected statesmen. Like many Nigerians that have offered varied opinions on the President’s declaration of a state of emergency in Rivers State, the two distinguished Nigerians have also offered their own opinions”.
Meanwhile, the Yoruba determinist group Afenifere called on President Bola Tinubu to declare a state of emergency over the South-West to tackle banditry and the assault of the Fulani.
Elon Musk versus Vivian Jenna Wilson
It is an unusual father-and-daughter fight. Elon Musk, the father, declared Vivian Jenner dead. Why? She openly declared her transgender status.
Vivian Wilson, 20 years old, took Elon Musk to task in a recent issue of Teen Vogue.
Ms Jenner said she had not had contact with nor received any financial support from Musk since 2020, when she came out as transgender.
Elon took to X (formerly Twitter) Saturday to declare that Wilson had “died,” using the name that Wilson has legally abandoned, as well as misgendering her. The cause of death, according to Musk, is “the woke mind virus.”
