Everton stun Fulham to dent European chances

Everton dealt a serious blow to Fulham’s European ambitions with a stunning second-half comeback, scoring twice in three minutes to claim a 3-1 victory at Craven Cottage.

Fulham, who took a 17th-minute lead through Raul Jimenez’s header from Emile Smith Rowe’s cross, saw their dominance fade as they once again failed to hold an advantage, dropping points from a winning position for the 28th time this season.

Vitalii Mykolenko’s deflected strike brought Everton level before Michael Keane headed in a Dwight McNeil corner in the 70th minute, with the goal confirmed after a long VAR check.

Just 22 seconds after the restart, Beto added a third with a left-footed effort that squirmed under Bernd Leno, sealing only Everton’s second win in their last 11 Premier League matches.

Fulham were denied a last-gasp penalty after a VAR review upheld the on-field decision, leaving Marco Silva’s side 11th in the table, four points behind eighth-placed Brentford. Everton climbed to 13th with the crucial win.
