Boke Technology launches SDG Hero Project to empower 5,000 Lagos students
Boke Technology Limited, a global leader in digital entertainment, has officially launched its transformative SDG Hero Project in Lagos, Nigeria, a bold corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative designed to empower 5,000 students across the state to engage with all 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
At the heart of the project is Boke’s innovative “Game+” model, a gamified learning experience that fuses education with entertainment. The centrepiece, the SDG Hero board game, positions students as “heroes” tasked with solving global sustainability challenges through collaboration, critical thinking, and creative problem-solving.
“This is more than a game; it’s a movement to empower youth to drive global change,” said Yuqin Lin, International Director of Boke’s SDG Hero Project. “Boke’s fusion of gaming and social impact equips the next generation to build a sustainable world.”
The initiative is executed in partnership with Bracken Media Solutions, a creative 360 marketing agency known for integrating technology and storytelling to drive social impact. With a client base that includes Coca-Cola, Google, and OPay, Bracken brings strategic visibility and creative energy to the project.
“At Bracken, we believe creativity is a tool for lasting change,” said Mahmood Oyewo, Managing Director of Bracken Media. “Partnering with Boke allows us to shape how young people see and solve global challenges.”
Supporting the outreach and educational components is Real Impact, a Nigerian NGO committed to transforming public education in underserved communities. The organisation is working with Boke and Bracken to ensure equitable access and long-term sustainability of the initiative.
“We believe education extends far beyond the classroom,” said Karen Abah, Executive Director of Real Impact. “This initiative empowers students with tools to think critically and act locally. We are proud to help young Nigerians turn global goals into meaningful change.”
The SDG Hero Project aligns with Nigeria’s Agenda 2050 and Lagos State’s 2023 Voluntary Local Review, positioning Lagos as a pioneering hub for grassroots sustainability innovation. To date, the program has trained over 1,000 gamified education mentors (“Game Masters”) and engaged more than 60,000 youth participants globally.
The project is further supported by international collaborations, including with UNESCO and the UN Global Compact, to develop locally relevant SDG education tools across Africa and Southeast Asia.
Through the SDG Hero Project, Boke Technology is redefining CSR, showing how digital entertainment can become a powerful platform for education, empowerment, and sustainable development.
