AFLM to celebrate beauty, intelligence of African youths at beauty pageant
To celebrate the physical beauty and intelligence of African youths, Africa Future Leadership Magazine (AFLM) has unveiled the Face of Africa Future Leadership conference and awards beauty pageant.
The beauty pageant, which holds in October this year, is also aimed at showcasing cultural pride and visionary leadership among the youth.
Speaking at a media briefing in Lagos to announce the launch of the initiative, Mark Idiahi, convener, Face of Africa Future Leadership Conference and Awards (FAFLCA) beauty pageant, described the event as creativity that combines the glamour of a world-class beauty pageant with the transformative power of a leadership conference and awards ceremony.
“The Face of Africa pageant is more than a beauty contest; it is a platform that recognises and amplifies the voice of young African leaders who are shaping the future of our continent. It is about redefining beauty as a combination of grace, intellect, purpose, and service,” he said.
While stating that the beauty pageant is part of activities to mark the 10th anniversary of the annual Africa Future Leadership Conference and Awards (AFLCA), he said that it represents a natural evolution of an event that has successfully run for the past nine years.
“As we mark the significant milestone of our 10th anniversary this year, we believe it is both timely and meaningful to spotlight African fashion heritage.
This celebration not only honors our decade-long journey but also pays tribute to the rich cultural legacy of the continent,” he noted.
On the FAFLCA initiative, he said that it brings together emerging leaders, innovators, entrepreneurs, and change-makers from across Africa to engage in dialogues, network, and honor outstanding contributions in various sectors, including education, technology, governance, entertainment, and community development.
The winner of the fashion and beauty pageant will receive prizes, including a car, N2.5 million cash prize, while the 2nd runner-up will cart away with the sum of N1.5 million cash prize.
