FAAC shares ₦1.92 trillion November revenue among federal, state and local governments
Nigeria’s Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) shared ₦1.92 trillion in revenue for November among the federal government, states and local government councils, according to an official communiqué released after its December 2025 meeting in Abuja.
The meeting was chaired by the Minister of State for Finance, Doris Uzoka-Anite.
FAAC said the distributable revenue comprised ₦1.40 trillion from statutory sources, ₦485.83 billion from value-added tax (VAT) and ₦39.64 billion from the electronic money transfer levy (EMTL). Gross revenue available for the month stood at ₦2.34 trillion.
Deductions for the cost of collection amounted to ₦84.25 billion, while total transfers, interventions, refunds and savings accounted for ₦330.62 billion, the committee said.
Gross statutory revenue for November was ₦1.736 trillion, down by ₦427.97 billion from the ₦2.164 trillion recorded in October.
Gross VAT revenue in November was ₦563.04 billion, representing a decline of ₦156.78 billion from the ₦719.82 billion generated in October, FAAC said.
From the VAT receipts, ₦22.52 billion was deducted as cost of collection, while ₦54.68 billion was set aside for transfers, interventions and refunds.
Of the total ₦1.92 trillion shared, the federal government received ₦747.15 billion, state governments ₦601.73 billion and local government councils ₦445.26 billion. An additional ₦134.35 billion, representing 13 per cent of mineral revenue, was paid to oil-producing states as derivation revenue.
Breaking down the statutory allocation, FAAC said the federal government received ₦668.33 billion, states ₦338.98 billion and local governments ₦261.35 billion, while ₦134.36 billion was distributed as derivation revenue.
From the ₦485.84 billion VAT pool, the federal government received ₦72.88 billion, states ₦242.92 billion and local governments ₦170.04 billion.
Revenue from the ₦43.40 billion EMTL was shared with the federal government receiving ₦5.95 billion, state governments ₦19.82 billion and local governments ₦13.88 billion. Deductions of ₦1.74 billion were made for collection costs, while ₦2.02 billion went to transfers, refunds and savings.
FAAC said excise duty rose moderately during the month, but petroleum profit tax, hydrocarbon tax, company income tax, capital gains tax, stamp duties, oil and gas royalties, import duty, CET levies, VAT and EMTL recorded significant declines.
